Initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic: 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Sakthi Trust undertook various initiatives to support the community. 

Health and Safety Initiatives:

  • Production and distribution of masks and herbal hand sanitizers to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals.
  • Providing masks and hand sanitizers continuously to Ayyampalayam town panchayat and primary health centre workers, ensuring their protection as frontline workers serving the community during the pandemic.

Food Support:

  • Providing essential food supplies and groceries to those in need, similar to the support provided during the first and second wave of the pandemic. 

Farmer Empowerment:

  • Collaboration with NABARD and the Department of Agriculture- Dindigul  to improve cultivation methods and establish market linkages for farmers’ produce.
  • Coordination with the Department of Agri Agriculture Marketing & agri business and Department of Horticulture to maintain a seamless supply chain for fresh vegetables from local farmers.
  • Establishment of a mobile market and sales points for regular delivery of fresh produce which was possible because of the support we received from Ayyampalayam Farmers Producers Company Ltd.

Training Programs:

  • Conducting training programs for youths, migrants who returned to their hometowns due to job cuts, and women.
  • Compliance with all COVID-19 rules and regulations while providing training.
  • LEDP (Livelihood Enterprise Development Program) project sanctioned by NABARD to train women in Aari and embroidery craftwork.
  • Empowering individuals with new skills to create sustainable livelihoods and improve profitability.

Overall, Sri Sakthi Trust’s initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic focused on health and safety, food support, farmer empowerment, and providing training programs to various groups. These efforts aimed to address immediate needs, support the community, and empower individuals for a better future.
