In an effort to conserve the environment, we have planted approximately 92,000 plants over from 2001. These plants are being cared for with the aid of local farmers, our youth club, and the general public. 

Bio-Diversity Program

Sakthi Trust conducted awareness about Bio-diversity every 5th june. This program was conducted for Self Help Group Members.

Biodiversity is protected through a serious of activities carried out under Ayyampalayam Watershed Project. Under the promotion of agro forestry, rate of cutting of trees has been minimized greatly. Due to increasing afforestation, number of wildlife especially birds has increased. With the application bio-fertilizers such as vermin-compost, microbes essential the growth of crops are preserved, which has improved land fertility in Ayyampalayam Watershed area

We were conducting these programs every year without fail. Competitions for school and college students world be conducted and prizes and certificates would be given away to the paricipants. 

Eco Tourism

With the view to facilitating to learn and appreciate the bounties of nature, the trust is regularly organizing treks and eco walks for youth in lower Palani hills. The participants of these programs went back enriched with the vow to protect the environment.

Bird Watch Club

Our Organization has newly introduced Bird Watch Club to School and College Students. This year we have Combined 20 members. We have registered in Citizen Science Project of ‘e-bird’ Website about 55 birds in and around Ayyampalayam Area department. Vermi-compost, organic manure is produced in large scale through effectively trained Self Help Group members of Our Trust.
