Hosting the Area conference of ACWW :
ACWW, the largest international organization for rural women, adopts a practical and supportive approach, providing its members with mutual support, friendship, and tangible assistance. With its 365 member societies across more than 70 countries, the organization boasts a membership of nine million individuals.
Sri Sakthi Trust, a proud member of ACWW, successfully hosted the Central and South Asia Area Conference in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Under the theme “Redefining course of Action towards Transformation,” the conference emphasized the pivotal role played by women in the economic development of families worldwide.
The conference saw participation from 102 women representing India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UK, and the USA. It served as a platform for meaningful discussions and initiatives aimed at empowering women and shaping a transformative future.
Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Center (Science city):
Sri Sakthi Trust organized an awareness program titled “The Role of Science in Sustainable Agriculture Development and Environment Protection” with the support of Science City, Chennai. The program aimed to educate students and farming communities about the significance of science in promoting sustainable agriculture and protecting the environment. Participants included students from horticulture, agriculture, science, arts, as well as local farmers. Surpassing expectations, a total of 120 individuals took part in the three-day program.
The program focused on various subject areas, including sustainable and renewable energy, traditional scientific practices for environmental protection, waste disposal and management, global environmental issues, traditional and modern agricultural technologies, as well as the use of science and technology in daily life and agricultural marketing. Through discussions and interactions, students were able to gain an understanding of scientific principles and their practical application in enhancing everyday living standards.
